LATEST UPDATE:
Long Distance Marriages: How Do They Work?An American lady I work with, has been married to her husband for 9 years now but they have never stayed in the same country. She visits her husband at most for three weeks (when she takes leave from work) a year Or the husband visits her for a week to two weeks a year, over the whole 9 years period.
I have been trying to understand how she is able to manage that and how she feels about it. As it looks like neither of them are planning to move to the same country atleast not in the near future. She a succesful career woman and apperantly the husband has his own business.
The couple does not have kids still after all that time. I have been trying to put myself in her shoes and definately know I could never be able to cope. Isn't marraige the lifetime journey of being together than being far apart for such long periods of time?
I could not stop wondering if the guy might be cheating on the wife as he spends more than 11months of a year alone, especially an African man?
On what grounds would you allow this and what would be your set limit of time of being in such an arrangement?
