Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that he has never met American rapper Nicki Minaj in person, despite working with her on two songs.
Speaking in a recent episode of the Bootleg Kev podcast, Davido shared the surprising detail while discussing their collaborations. Davido recalled how their first interaction began when he noticed that Nicki Minaj was following him on Instagram.
“You know the crazy thing? I have never met her. It’s crazy. We speak on the phone all the time. The first time we linked was through DM,” he said.
Davido explained that he reached out to her with a song request, and she immediately agreed to collaborate. He recounted how she quickly sent her verse after he shared the track.
“We went to L.A. to shoot the video, but it didn’t work out because she was having her baby at that time. But we’ve always been close since then. She hit me again with the record last year for Pink Friday 2, I think her anniversary album. She’s always supportive. She’s amazing,” he added.
The revelation has sparked excitement among fans, who are eager to see if the two music stars will finally meet in person for future projects.
